The aim of the study: Assess predisposing factors, body image and self-esteem among school age children with nocturnal enuresis. Subjects & methods: Research design: Case-control study design was used. Setting: the Urology and the Psychiatric Outpatient clinics at Zagazig University hospital and Al -Ahrar hospital at Zaga-zig city. Subjects: The study was conducted on 240 children with their mothers (120 studies, and 120 con-trols). Tools of data collection: Three tools were used; Structured interview questionnaire sheet, body image scale and self-esteem scale. Results: Concerning to the mean of total self-esteem of both studied and control group were 39.00± 3.82 and 43.22± 4.77 respectively. In addition to the mean of overall image of both studied and control group were74.8± 4.4 and 79.8± 5.0 respectively. Conclusion: Concerning the overall image and self-esteem, there are statistically significant differences between both control and stud-ied group. Aim of the study: was to assess the awareness of guidelines in families living in contact with infective HCV patients in a rural community. Subjects and Methods: Research design: A descriptive design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Al-Fawaksa and Al-Tal Al-Ahmer villages in Sharkia governorate. Subjects: 70 clients with HCV disease, and 140 of their family caregivers. Tools of data collection: Two interview questionnaires were used for data collection, one for each category, covering demographic and disease characteristics, health habits and risky practices, as well as knowledge of HCV. It also included a practical guidelines tool. Results: Only 45.7% of HCV clients had satisfactory knowledge related to HCV, and 28.6% had adequate practices. For caregivers, 20.7% had satisfactory knowledge, and 27.9% had adequate practices. Conclusion: HCV clients and their family caregivers have deficient knowledge and inadequate practice of HCV preventive guidelines; these scores are significantly and positively correlated. It is a common and preventable cause of morbidity, and mortality in children. Aim of the study: Assess mother's knowledge and practices regarding care of the children with accidental poisoning in poisoning control center at Zagazig University. Subjects and Methods: Research design: A descriptive design was used to conduct this study. Setting: This study was conduct at the poisoning control center in Zagazig University Hospital. Subject: A purposive sample consisted of 251 mothers accompanying their children. Tools of data collection: A structured interview questionnaire was used containing five parts: Part I: demographic data about the mothers and her family. Part II: The accident poisoning of the child. Part III: Mother's knowledge in selected health problems. Part IV: Mother's preventive practices in home safety. Part V: Mother's first aid practices related to the home poisoning of the child. Results: The majority of the families were extended (93.2%), parents together (80.9%), and living in rural areas (84.1%). There were a statistically significant relation between mothers' first-aid practice and their level of education (p=0.02). Conclusion: The current study revealed that less than two thirds of the mothers in the studied sample were having satisfactory knowledge and adequate preventive practice about poisoning in children. Aimof the study was to assess occupational health hazards and protective measures amongradiation health team. Subjects & methods: Research design: Across-sectional descriptivedesign was used in this study. Setting: The study was carried out at the RadiotherapyDepartment in Zagazig University Hospital, and Radiology Department in El-Ahrar ZagazigHospital. Subjects: A purposive sample composed of 70 subjects who worked at the radiationdepartments for at least two years. Tools of data collection: Two tools were used in thisstudy. Tool Ι: A self-administered questionnaire to identify knowledge about radiationhazards, the effects of occupational health hazards, and protective measures among radiationhealth team. Tool ΙI: An observational checklist to describe compliance with personalprotective equipment and safe work practice. Results: The study findings revealed that 20%of nurses, 60.5% of technicians and 52.9% of physicians had satisfactory knowledge aboutradiation hazards. Additionally, the highest percentages of occupational hazards as reportedby participants were physical hazards which constituted (100% among nurses, 93% amongtechnicians and 88.2% among physicians). The highest percentages of the health problemsrelated to exposure to radiation at work were found among technicians (95.3%) compared to70% of nurses and 47.1% of physicians. As well, only 17.6%of physicians and 14% oftechnicians wear lead aprons all times. Also, 18.6% of technicians, and 5.9% of physicianswear monitoring badge. Moreover none of nurses comply with the use of personal protectiveequipment. Conclusion: the highest percentages regarding knowledge of radiation hazardswere among technicians. The majority of occupational hazards were physical, followed bybiological and psychological hazards among radiation health team. Minority of theparticipants were satisfactory with protective measures. The dependence on the mobile phone is increasingly high. At the same time, this new information and communication technology cause harm. Aim of the study: Assess mobile phone usage among adolescents in Zagazig City: patterns, dependency and perceived health risks. Subjects and methods: Research design: Cross sectional descriptive design was utilized. Setting: The study was conducted at preparatory and secondary schools in Zagazig city from both East and West administration. Subjects: The current study enrolled 870 of adolescent by using stratified multistage cluster sample. Tools of data collection: A self- administrated questionnaire sheet composed of four parts was used; the socio demographic characteristics, usage patterns, dependency and mobile phone related health risks. Results: The results of present study revealed that internet browsing (53.7%) was the most favorite feature of mobile phone use. Meanwhile, 9.2% of adolescents were severely dependent on their mobile phone phones; headache (47.4%) and tinnitus (40.5%) were the common complains. In addition to, moderate uncomfortable pain especially at the neck and slightly uncomfortable pain of different areas of the hands. Conclusion: Begin in secondary school increased the level of total mobile phone dependency. Aim of the study: Determine the stressors and coping strategies among nursing students in faculty of nursing at Zagazig University. Subject & Methods: Research Design: A cross sectional descriptive design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting: The study was conducted in faculty of nursing at Zagazig University. Subjects: The study sample included 440 nursing students recruited from four grades from nursing students.Tools of data collection: Two tools were used to collect the necessary data. The first tool included two parts to collect data. The first part about demographic characteristics and the second part was self-administered questionnaire, student stress survey. The second tool was adolescent coping orientation for problem experiences. Results: The study findings revealed that 82.3% of the nursing students were from rural area. Additionally,(75.6%) 0f nursing students in the first grade suffered from interpersonal stressors related starting new year. Finally (47.4%) of the fourth grade of the nursing students reported they exposed interpersonal stressors of working with unknown persons compared to 44.2% of first grade. Conclusion: The highest source of stressors among the nursing students was the environmental stressors and the lowest source was academic stressors. The highest coping strategies used by the nursing students were being humorous and seeking spiritual support and the lowest is ventilating of feelings. Excellent and good teachers' performance leads to a successful learning process. Aim of the study: was to assess the competence of nursing teachers' performance in technical nursing schools at Sharkia Governorate. Subjects & Methods: Research design: A descriptive cross sectional design was utilized. Setting: All technical nursing schools at Sharkia Governorate. Subjects: The study sample included all technical nursing teachers in 17 schools nursing schools' at Sharkia Governorate (119 teachers) and 510 students. Tools of data collection: Tool (1) was used to assess the self- assessment of nursing teachers, tool (2) was used to assess Students’ satisfaction of their nursing teachers and tool (3) was used by researcher to evaluate the performance of nursing teacher’s in classroom. Results: The study findings revealed that the most of nursing teachers assessed themselves with high performance (85.7%). Moreover, majority of nursing students were satisfied of their teachers in general (83.8%), finally, the competence of technical nursing teachers' performance was higher in personal skills (73.9%) compared to teaching skills (24.4%). There was a statistical significant relation between students’ satisfaction of nursing teachers and their gender (p< 0.001). Conclusion: The most of nursing teachers assessed themselves with high performance. The majority of students were satisfayed with their teachers in general. While in observed performance personal skills were better than teaching skills, and total teaching skills were low, especially regarding using teaching media and setting objectives.. Subjects: composed of 60 adult epileptic patients from the previous mentioned setting. Results of this study revealed that there were statistically significant difference in all self-management and social support scores from pre to post intervention Program. Conclusion: Epilepsy self-management program had positive effect on improving patient's self-management and controlling their disease as well as positive effects on social support enhancement. Non-adherence to chelation therapy severely compromises patient health, quality of life and survival. Aim of the study: Was to evaluate the effect of multidimensional intervention on improving adherence of thalassemic children to iron chelation therapy. Subject and method: Research design: A quasi experimental (pre-post) design was used. Setting: Pediatric Hematology Outpatient Clinic at Zagazig University Hospital, Zagazig, Egypt. Subjects: A purposive sample of 50 thalassemic children. Tools of data collection: Three tools were used to collect the necessary data included; a structured interview questionnaire, Morisky 8-Item Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8), and Chelation Therapy Management Form. Results: It was found that thalassemic children’ adherence to iron chelation therapy and their serum ferritin levels were significantly improved after implementation of the multidimensional intervention (P=0.001). Conclusion: The multidimensional intervention improved thalassemic children’ adherence to iron chelation therapy.
